A Moment Of Beauty (From Candle's FAWM 2012 Notes)

Was inspired by the One Note Challenge: fawm.org/forums/thread/3088/ So I picked one of the twelve western musical tones & starting fooling around with delays, phasers, a pitch shifter, a leslie & my two keyboards (a Realsitic Concertmate 500 (Casio SK-1 Clone) & a Kawai MS-710). And here's a little spacey song that sort of just rumbles along nicely. I like where this one went…

I was sort of imaging the idea of some being/thing emerging into existence from nothingness. A sort of creation ex nihlo… which in my logical mind is absurd, but fun to play around with as a Thought Experiment/Musical Experiment.

The setup has remained the same since Ghia Is Churning fawm.org/songs/21885/ - except that I added a Jeskola Ninja-Delay as an extra FX Chain going into the IX Patchbay. Again, this was one take, live-to-tape. I had a lot of fun letting the delays swell while switching from my guitar to the Kawai or the SK-1 (or back again). It was lots of fun creating this piece.
