A Moment Of Beauty (From Candle's FAWM 2012 Notes)

After being disappointed with the results of Enchanté fawm.org/songs/24915/ , I was determined to do another song with some chanting or vocal stylings. And after listening to FAWM Musician caterwauler's amazing Black Hole fawm.org/songs/25227/ & how she was able to craft an entire soundscape with just her voice, I figured it was about time to try to use my larynx as an instrument.

I am quite satisfied with the result. It's amazing what you can do with a microphone, some effects (phasing, pitch-shifting, delays & loopers) & different syllables & inflections. This was a lot of fun

As per my usual modus operati, this was live-to-tape with no overdubs in post. Every sound you hear on this track is just my voice - no external instruments at all. The setup was identical to Enchanté.

Other Notes:

This song originally was conceived as a B-Side or non-album track but it has grown on me & I found that it worked with the rest of the tracks I have selected to release with the album.
