The Final Dimension (Fourth Movement)

about

From the original 50/90 Liner Notes:

"I have half a feeling that even though this is called "The Final Dimension", there might be one more in this series… My Muse seems to be whispering such things into my ear. But we'll have to see how that goes…

This one sort of encompasses many of the techniques found in the first three movements of the "Dimensions Series". Everything you hear in this track (minus the drum beat - which is thanks to HG Fortune's wonderful Percumat 2 VSTi) are sounds created by my Stratocaster. My plastic cutlery plectum are back with a vengeance with the plastic knife creating many of the "out there" sounds you hear (including those opening little signals). The red plastic baby spoon creates a lot of the percussive chaos in the middle to late section of the piece while the plastic fork was used to create some crazy quad-tones & other spacey effects. Of course, there's a whole lot of delay & reverb as well as a few loops (c/o the Mobius VST) & a bunch of repeating atmospherics (c/o the Elottonix XL VST - the Frippertronics emmulator). But I do like some of the melodic bits that crop up during this. I'm quite pleased with how this whole track turned out.

Just don't ask me to ever play it again. I can't remember what the #3LL I did at any given time.

Gear: Fender Deluxe Stratocaster -> DigiTech Grunge Pedal -> Behringer UMC404HD Audio Interface -> Candle's "Live" Jeskola Buzz Setup all controlled by the Behringer FCB1010 MIDI Foot Controller.

Plectrum ('cos they needed a seperate list Wink ) - in order of first appearance (IIRC): Beige Plastic Knife; Red Plastic Baby Spoon; Glass Slide; Grey Jim Dunlop 0.80mm Fins; Beige Plastic Fork"

Though this is not a true finalé, there is some sense of an ending in sight…

See You In The Shadows…
