about

From the Liner notes of FAWM 2015:

"A big departure from my usual sound. The lyrics for this one came to me as I walked out of work this afternoon and the bluesy rhythmn line looped through my head on my drive home.

Who said FAWM wasn't inspiring?

This is also a departure from the Modus Operati I have been working
under for the first two songs of this year's FAWM. I recorded the vocals
& the rhythmn line & played them through Buzz's Matilde Tracker machine. I then overdubbed the lead guitar live over top as the song recorded in Buzz."

There's the old adage "leave em' wanting more" and that's
exactly what you did here. I really like the direction this was
going.

Dig it! That's what I love about FAWM- anything goes! I like the
'doors' vibe to the instrumentation. In fact, Jim Morrison
singing the intro would be quite rad. This is a cool start to
something that could be fleshed out into a full fledged doors-jam.

Nice! As @prsrose said, I could see this as a full-on jam. I
like the minimalism of this a lot.

But this was sung and played on the moon, wasn't it? :) Nice to
hear you playing this kind of stuff, I wish there are more
vocals, because the vocals were great. Love how the guitar goes
wild at times, then behaves.

I can't believe I haven't commented on this before. I downloaded
this when you first posted it, and I've listened to it about 18
times. It's one of my start up songs when I'm on the way to
work. I just came across it on the "random" button, and good
goodness, a classic. I think I may have subconsciously ripped
off your melody for 'Studebaker Jones'"

lyrics

Spiritual Vigilante

I was leaving Boston
With a suitcase under my arm
Yeah, I was leaving Boston
This heavy suitcase under my arm
The sheriff's deputy tried to save me
But the arm of the law ain't that long…
